A profession that promises a hundred smiles

The formative years of the child are the most critical period in his life. Thus the teachers who aspire to teach young children should be adequately and extensively trained. With this aim Symbiosis has started Post Graduate Diploma in Pre-Primary Teacher Education. Our course is an effort to give, aspiring teachers as well entrepreneurs who wish to start their own preschools, a comprehensive training. Our broad objectives are:

To help the trainees form a sound theoretical base of child development, curriculum planning and preschool organization.
To sensitize the trainees to the needs of preschoolers.
To equip the trainees to plan developmentally appropriate preschool program and prepare teaching materials.

The course is a fine blend of theory, classroom practical and skill development. The theory part of the course consists of four subjects viz. -

Child Development (Physical and Psychological)
Curriculum Planning for young children
Needs of Special Children
